About This Position

Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in United States.

This is a high-impact fractional leadership role designed for an experienced finance executive who can operate as a strategic partner to a fast-scaling, venture-backed SaaS organization. You will sit at the center of the company’s most important financial and strategic decisions, helping shape capital allocation, growth strategy, and long-term financial direction. Working closely with the executive team and board, you will bring senior-level judgment, pattern recognition, and external market perspective to guide high-stakes decisions. This role is not focused on day-to-day accounting or operational finance, but on elevating strategic thinking and ensuring financial clarity at moments of inflection. You will also collaborate closely with internal finance leadership to strengthen financial rigor and decision-making frameworks. The environment is fast-moving, global, and highly collaborative, requiring both precision and strategic agility.

Accountabilities:
  • Act as a strategic finance partner to the executive team, supporting key decisions around growth, investment, and operational efficiency
  • Advise on capital strategy, including fundraising, financing structures, and long-term financial planning
  • Partner with internal finance leadership to enhance financial frameworks, reporting quality, and decision-support tools
  • Contribute to board-level materials and participate in discussions related to financial strategy and company performance
  • Provide guidance on SaaS financial metrics, unit economics, and performance indicators that drive strategic decisions
  • Leverage external network to support investor relations, banking partnerships, and strategic advisory connections
  • Support evaluation of high-impact business decisions, including trade-offs between growth and profitability
Requirements:

This role requires a seasoned finance executive with deep experience in high-growth SaaS environments and a strong ability to operate at both strategic and advisory levels. The ideal candidate brings a combination of financial leadership experience, investor-facing exposure, and strong judgment in scaling companies through multiple growth stages.

  • 10–15+ years of experience in senior finance leadership roles (CFO, VP Finance, or equivalent) in venture-backed SaaS companies
  • Proven experience operating within companies scaling through approximately $10M–$100M ARR stages
  • Strong background in fundraising, capital strategy, and investor relations (Series B and beyond preferred)
  • Deep understanding of SaaS financial metrics including ARR, CAC, LTV, net revenue retention, cohort analysis, and Rule of 40
  • Experience working with venture debt and alternative financing structures
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into executive-level insights
  • Established network within the SaaS, venture capital, and financial ecosystem
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence executives, founders, and board members
  • Comfortable operating in a fractional, high-autonomy advisory capacity
Benefits:
  • Flexible fractional engagement (approximately 15–25 hours per month, with scalable involvement during key financial events)
  • Fully remote work environment with global team collaboration
  • Opportunity to influence strategic financial decisions at a high-growth SaaS company
  • Exposure to board-level discussions and capital strategy decisions
  • Flexible scheduling and autonomy over working hours
  • Inclusive and transparent culture focused on collaboration and impact
  • Opportunity for engagement extension beyond initial contract period.
