About This Position
Description:
This individual will support engine management systems functions for snow, offroad, and XTV products. Primary functions include: setting up engines and vehicles for specific tests, assist in data collection, performing field evaluations, supporting dyno campaigns, and assist in fuel calibrations. In addition, this individual should have a solid understanding of engines, fuel systems, and electronic controls.
Essential Functions
- Setup and assemble vehicles and dyno engines for specific Fuel Managements Systems tests.
- Operate engine dyno labs in performing prescribed tests.
- Perform vehicle evaluations and make fuel calibration adjustments to verify products meet or exceed the design requirements.
- Assure completeness and accuracy of all fabrications and tests performed.
- Maintain development models in a clean, operable condition. Service and repair to assure readiness for testing and field evaluation.
- Maintain work area clean and orderly.
- Efficiently and timely complete all assignments according to development schedules, cost objectives and management’s directions.
- Coordinate procurement of prototype Fuel Management system components.
- Stay abreast of the latest Fuel Management and Engine developments and new technologies.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive designs, costing, test data, prototype models and product plans.
- Support the development of service manuals and part books.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and encourage their efforts.
- Education: high school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or mechanical/electrical degree preferred.
- Proficient in interpreting blueprints.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and punctual.
- Knowledge of ATV’s, ROV’s, or snowmobiles.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Able to travel for testing up to 2 weeks at a time.
- Possess riding and evaluation skills for ATV’s, ROV’s, or Snowmobiles.
