Job Classification: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week

Reporting Relationship: Manager of Collection Services

Primary Accountabilities:

The Certified Substance Abuse Screening Technician is responsible for quality and efficient drug and alcohol screenings and collections, as well as providing constant customer service via phone and in-person. This position is also responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the collection site, as well as the security and recording of confidential files and information.

Major Duties:

  • Accurately collects urine, hair, and in some cases saliva specimens for drug screening.
  • Tests individuals for breath alcohol content.
  • Completes observed collections for customers of the clinic.
  • Demonstrates a complete and in-depth knowledge of 49 CFR Part 40.
  • Ensures adequate authorization is obtained for every substance abuse screening to be performed.
  • Provides customer service and excellent public relation experience via phone, email, and face-to-face encounters.
  • Verifies collection invoices.
  • Cleans drug screen collection restroom facilities and stocks supplies when necessary.
  • Collects, records, and maintains payments collected from clients.
  • Collects and inputs data both manually and electronically.
  • Distributes custody and control forms, drug and alcohol screening results and all other information as needed, via fax, email and mail, as appropriate.
  • Provides information on the drug and alcohol screening process as a whole including but not limited to, screening, random generating process, finding other collection sites, conversion of CCF's, drugs tested for, drug screen results, etc.)
  • Notifies Designated Employment Representative of random draw participants that have been selected and makes multiple efforts to get them into the facility to perform a drug screen.
  • Efficiently uses the electronic drug screening software.
  • Testifies in court proceedings, as necessary.
  • Suggests, supports and participates in the quality initiatives undertaken by TMHC Services and suggest, support and influence programs within the division or company that refine systems and processes and improve overall performance
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to obtain CPC and BAT certification within one month of employment.
  • It is essential that the employee can demonstrate independent thought, fast learning, a good memory, exemplary customer service skills, and patience
  • Eventual training in accordance with 49 CFR part 40.
  • Push, pull, lift or carry 20 pounds.

  • Professional and deadline-oriented environment in an office setting.
  • Interaction with staff and clients.
  • Requires high attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions and training.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must have 1 year of experience in customer service.
  • Experience in the substance abuse screening field is a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must successfully complete all required background checks and drug screening
  • Independent thought, self-discipline, and conflict resolution skills are important to this position.

  • Operates on a flexible schedule as weekend work and is willing to work additional hours will be required if needed.
  • Adapts to changing work priorities and a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
  • Participates in training classes as outlined by the division, Human Resources and ComplianceOne.
  • Demonstrates poise, tact, and diplomacy with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations to meet HIPAA standards for confidentiality.
  • Maintains effective, cooperative working relationships with people both internally and externally as it relates to the operations and business of ComplianceOne.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions and training.
