About This Position

Position Summary

Family Circle of Care is currently hiring Certified Clinical Medical Assistants (CCMA) with multiple openings available (4) across three of our Tyler clinic locations, including OB/GYN, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, and Pediatrics.

Our Certified Clinical Medical Assistants play a critical role in supporting patient care by assisting providers with examinations, treatments, and procedures. This position helps maintain a clean, organized, and compliant clinical environment while supporting the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.

Candidates may be considered for placement based on experience and clinic needs at one of our Tyler clinic locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The duties listed below represent the essential functions of the position. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed:

  • Prepares examination and treatment rooms for patient visits; ensures proper placement of equipment and instruments.

  • Cleans and sterilizes instruments in accordance with safety and infection control standards.

  • Collects specimens, including blood draws (phlebotomy), and administers specified medications and immunizations under physician supervision.

  • Manages inventory of medical supplies and materials; orders as needed.

  • Cleans, stocks, and maintains exam rooms, procedure rooms, and other assigned clinical areas.

  • Follows procedures for obtaining physician approval for medication refills and documents accordingly in the electronic medical record (EMR).

  • Assists the physician or advanced practice provider proactively, ensuring efficient clinical support.

  • Attends and completes required in-service training sessions and staff meetings.

  • Participates in Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI) programs focused on quality and risk management.

  • Maintains compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including but not limited to: HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, CMS, JCAHO, NCQA-PCMH, BPHC/HRSA

Patient-Centered Responsibilities
  • Participates in team huddles to support clear communication among care team members.

  • Rooms patients efficiently and provides a high level of customer service.

  • Assists with overall patient flow and clinical efficiency.

  • Interviews patients to obtain relevant medical information and documents accurately in the EMR.

  • Records vital signs, including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.

  • Schedules patient appointments, laboratory services, and diagnostic tests while optimizing provider schedules.

  • Assists providers with patient-related follow-up calls, including delivering test results and clarifying instructions.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the following qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.

Computer Skills

  • Proficient with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.

    • EPIC Preferred

  • 10-key data entry proficiency required.

Equipment Usage

  • Experience with point-of-care testing equipment, including glucose monitors and blood pressure devices.

Certifications

  • Current CPR certification (must be renewed every two years).

  • Medical Assistant certification from an accredited agency.

Additional Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Physical Demands

The physical requirements of this role include:

  • Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, use hands, and reach.

  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

  • May need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
  • Exposure to airborne particles, infectious diseases, blood, and other bodily fluids may occur.

  • Required to follow bloodborne pathogen protocols and hand hygiene practices.

  • Noise level is typically moderate.
