Coordinator of Community Relations

Job Summary:

The Coordinator of Community Relations provides direct, system wide support to the Managers of Community Relations in the Northern, Southern, and Western Regions. This role expands the capacity of the Government & Community Relations team by assisting with outreach activities, event logistics, partnership engagement, health education initiatives, and administrative functions across all regions.

This is a highly collaborative, serviceoriented position requiring excellent communication skills, strong organization, and a commitment to supporting both internal teams and the communities served by WMCHealth.

Responsibilities:

Support for Managers of Community Relations

  • Serve as the primary support resource for the Managers of Community Relations across all regions, assisting in planning, preparing, and executing community engagements.
  • Help Managers track priorities, manage logistics, coordinate schedules, and maintain followup lists to ensure seamless operations across regions.

Community Partnership Support

    • Assist Managers in maintaining and strengthening relationships with community organizations, local governments, schools, nonprofits, and business partners.
    • Prepare outreach materials, partnership summaries, and followup communications on behalf of Managers.

Event and Outreach Coordination

    • Support Managers by coordinating event logistics for community events, health fairs, mobile health initiatives, screenings, and public health education sessions.
    • Assist clinical service lines with preparation, communication, and participation in community events, following guidance from the Managers of Community Relations.
    • Represent WMCHealth at events when Managers are unavailable or require additional onsite assistance.

Public Health Education Support

    • Work with Managers and clinical departments to help organize public health education workshops, seminars, and community presentations.
    • Assist with preparing educational materials and ensuring all content aligns with systemwide standards.

Administrative and Reporting Functions

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Managers of Community Relations, including maintaining calendars, updating outreach databases, and managing contact lists.
  • Assist in compiling reports, dashboards, and summaries of community engagement activities, outcomes, and metrics for Managers and departmental leadership.
  • Support Managers in collecting data and documentation related to Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and Community Service Plan (CSP) activities.

Systemwide Coordination

  • Collaborate with Managers to ensure consistent messaging, branding, and documentation of community engagement efforts across all WMCHealth regions.
  • Assist with crossregional initiatives, joint events, and partnerships involving multiple hospitals or counties.

General Support

  • Provide additional project, administrative, and logistical support as assigned by the Managers of Community Relations and departmental leadership.
  • Assist in special projects that enhance WMCHealth’s visibility and effectiveness in community engagement.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience: 1–2 years of experience in community relations, health outreach, communications, or a similar role (healthcare or nonprofit experience preferred).

Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to support multiple Managers and stakeholders.Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with data entry and tracking systems.Ability to work independently while prioritizing the needs of the Managers of Community Relations.

Flexibility to attend events outside standard business hours.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
