We are currently recruiting for an Electronics Research Engineer.
What you will do in the position:
- Research, Testing, and Evaluation of Technology, Circuit, and System Concepts
- Participates in preparing project schedule and estimating study costs.
- Researches components needed to achieve study goals.
- Designs and tests circuits using circuit simulation and breadboards.
- Evaluates and tests new integrated circuits using vendor-supplied evaluation boards or HME-constructed breadboards.
- Evaluates design concepts and circuits from a performance standpoint as well as from a cost standpoint.
- Keeps abreast of new and changing technologies with the goal of finding new and more cost effective solutions.
- Develops software as needed to achieve project goals.
- Follows all HME standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Design and Construction of Proof of Concept Demonstrations
- Participates in the PoC concept design
- Designs hardware and software to support PoC
- Constructs or directs construction of PoC hardware
- Conducts user demonstrations and testing and documents test results.
- Interfaces with customers at test sites as required to help evaluate breadboard performance and possible product viability.
- Prepares written reports documenting study including concepts, test results, evaluation findings, and projected product costs.
- Support of New Product Development
Conducts demonstrations.
Assists with estimating development and manufacturing costs
Works to identify and reduce design risks for new concepts.
Provides training to design engineers as needed on new technologies, circuits, or systems.
Provides support to design engineers developing products based on researched technologies and PoCs.
Attends project design team meetings if requested.
Participates and critiques product designs as needed.
Performs all other job responsibilities as assigned.
What you will need to succeed:
- Qualifications
- Able to design and simulate analog and digital circuits.
- Able to communicate clearly and concisely in English through both written and verbal reports.
- Familiar with C/C++ programming language.
- Able to communicate with customers at test sites.
- Knowledgeable about DSP techniques.
- College training in circuit design and analysis.
- Experience
- 0 - 3 years related experience
- Education
- Bachelor's Degree in related field - Required
- Travel: 10%
The posted pay range, $81,200 - $108,300, is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. This may vary depending on experience and other factors. Our benefits package includes tuition reimbursement; 3 weeks paid vacation your first year, paid holidays, medical, vision, and dental coverage, pet insurance, life insurance, and 401K contributions.
