Job Summary/Objective:
The Architect is responsible for overseeing the design and modifications of house plans and layouts to provide a cost-effective product that will serve the homebuyers' needs. This includes creating and managing a library of designs. Through this process, the architect works with the construction team to ensure we have an affordable and volunteer friendly product. With a focus on efficient and grant compliant design being conscious of long-term durability and affordability for our homebuyers. The Architect will influence and collaborate on single and multifamily projects.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Design/modify house plans based on feedback, site conditions, and approval from Chief Construction Officer.
- Maintaining and reviewing supporting design documents from suppliers.
- Conducting site visits and project meetings to monitor progress and compliance with design specifications.
- Develop color schemes and finish options.
- Maintain construction practices that ensure a volunteer friendly project.
- Create and update takeoffs.
- Manages and updates panel build prints.
- Prepares and adjusts architectural drawing using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure design feasibility.
- Applying for planning permissions and advising on the statutory approvals required for projects.

- Ability to manage time effectively when handling multiple projects.

- Experience and knowledge of best practices of residential construction regionally to Pinellas, West Pasco, and Hernando Counties.
- Experience and knowledge of best practices of affordable housing.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite & Adobe Acrobat.
Work Environment

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Education, Experience and Attributes
- Licensure to practice architecture.
- Master’s Degree or equivalent education and experience preferred.
- Ability to speak and write English fluently.
- Three to Five years working on residential projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other architectural design and visualization tools.
Physical Demands
