This role plays a key part in supporting complex research program operations within a highly structured, mission-driven environment focused on health systems and implementation science. You will be responsible for coordinating program workflows, analyzing operational and performance data, and ensuring the accurate processing of project and budget-related requests. Acting as a central point of coordination across multiple stakeholders, you will help maintain consistency, compliance, and efficiency across program activities. The position requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, remote setting. You will also contribute to process improvement initiatives, helping streamline workflows and enhance reporting and data quality. This is a highly collaborative yet autonomous role with direct impact on program effectiveness and decision-making.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will support end-to-end program operations by managing workflows, analyzing data, and improving processes to ensure efficient execution of research program activities and stakeholder deliverables.

  • Review, prescreen, and process project initiation materials, modification requests, and budget-related submissions related to research and peer review activities.
  • Coordinate program workflows across project lifecycle activities, ensuring alignment with established procedures, timelines, and compliance requirements.
  • Collect, validate, analyze, and synthesize operational and performance data to support reporting, tracking, and decision-making.
  • Maintain and update structured tracking systems, including spreadsheets and databases, to support application, review, and reporting processes.
  • Support peer review and application coordination activities, including submission tracking and stakeholder communication.
  • Develop program-level reports, summaries, and dashboards to communicate key insights and operational performance.
  • Identify inefficiencies and support the development of SOPs, job aids, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support automation and workflow optimization using tools such as Excel, SharePoint, and other collaboration platforms.
  • Coordinate with program leadership and stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate, and complete processing of requests and deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure data integrity across program operations.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong program analysis experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to operate independently in a structured, data-driven, and multi-stakeholder environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Health Administration, Public Health, Finance, Research, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in program analysis, program management support, or operational coordination in complex environments.
  • Strong experience with data analysis, validation, and maintaining structured tracking tools (Excel, SharePoint, or similar systems).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, along with Teams and SharePoint.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and workstreams with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in remote environments and collaborating across distributed stakeholders.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Experience in federal or research program environments, budget tracking, or process improvement is highly desirable.
Benefits:
  • Fully remote position with flexible work arrangements (full-time or part-time options depending on program needs).
  • Opportunity to contribute to impactful federal research programs in health systems and implementation science.
  • Exposure to complex, mission-driven program operations and cross-functional stakeholder collaboration.
  • Professional growth in program management, analytics, and process improvement.
  • Collaborative, knowledge-driven environment supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Work on meaningful initiatives supporting large-scale public service and research outcomes.
