Superintendent at Manuel Commercial LLC – Lafayette, LA, Louisiana

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Superintendent to provide on-site coordination and leadership for commercial construction projects across multiple markets. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day field operations, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring quality control and safety compliance, and driving projects to completion on schedule and on budget.

The Commercial Superintendent will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure the project is built according to plans, specifications, addendums, and change orders, while maintaining strong relationships with owners, vendors, and trade partners.

Key Responsibilities:

On Site Project Leadership

• Provide daily on-site supervision and coordination of all construction activities.
• Ensure project execution aligns with construction documents, specifications, addendums, and approved change orders.
• Coordinate all subcontractors, suppliers, materials, and equipment to support the project schedule.
• Maintain project cleanliness, organization, jobsite setup, and professional field office facilities.
• Required to be onsite daily.

• Deliver projects on budget or under budget whenever possible.
• Run monthly management reports with the Project Manager to evaluate:
  • Current budget performance
  • Remaining cost to complete
  • Buyout opportunities
  • Areas of potential concern
• Monitor subcontractor/vendor scope gaps and potential change orders.
• Review subcontractor scopes of work and project documents to help identify cost impacts early.

• Actively build and maintain strong owner-client relationships.
• Provide regular updates to customers regarding project progress and expectations.
• Communicate with professionalism, patience, and empathy—ensuring no client concern is overlooked.
• Work cooperatively with customers and design professionals to solve issues proactively and prevent delays.
• Demonstrate strong construction knowledge in all client interactions to ensure confidence and satisfaction.

• Quality standards are consistently met
• Owners and stakeholders feel informed and supported throughout the build

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 5–10 years of experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, sequencing, and safety standards
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors and drive schedule performance
• Willingness to travel preferred
