Job description:

American Endovascular is looking for an experienced Certified Medical Assistants/ Patient Escort. Phlebotomy certification is required.

Medical Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Support physicians and nurses in daily operations.
  • Serve as a scribe to document patient reports.
  • Welcome and guide patients through their visits.
  • Record vital signs and collect lab samples.
  • Gather and update medical and medication history.
  • Ensure supplies are stocked and equipment is cleaned.
  • Maintain a sterile and organized pre- and post-op environment.
  • Assist patients with scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with physicians, staff, and management.
  • Uphold professionalism in all patient and healthcare interactions.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations for office visits and ultrasounds.
  • Handle incoming calls and schedule patient referrals.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed.

Patient Escort Responsibilities:

  • Patient Transportation: Escort patients from nursing homes to vascular centers and back.
  • Pre-Appointment Preparation: Visit nursing homes prior to appointment dates to ensure patients are prepped for procedures, including confirming that they haven't eaten and that all necessary paperwork is completed.
  • Coordination: Arrange and confirm transportation logistics for patients.
  • Patient Care: Assist patients with mobility and ensure their comfort during transport and at appointments.
  • Communication: Act as a liaison between nursing home staff, patients, and vascular center staff to ensure smooth coordination.
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English)

Availability:

  • Full Time Required: Must have flexibility- hours depends on patient appointments and needs.
  • Availability early am to evening late evenings required. (No weekends).

Location:

  • Travel required between Nursing Homes and vascular centers located at 30-30 Northern Blvd, Long Island City NY 11101.

High School Graduate

Medical Assistant School Graduate

Registered Medical Assistant issued by the state of NY.

Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support
