About This Position
Summary:
Messerli Kramer, a trusted Twin Cities law firm since 1965, is looking for a full-time Automation Solutions Lead to join our team in Plymouth, MN. The Automation Solutions Lead will lead automation initiatives across business and technology functions, driving solutions from concept through production. This role combines technical project leadership, solution architecture, and hands-on execution to deliver scalable automation solutions leveraging data, workflows, and AI where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive the Automation / AI roadmap aligned to business priorities and ROI
- Lead end-to-end solution delivery (design, architecture, integration, testing, deployment, scaling)
- Act as Technical Project Manager coordinating cross-functional teams
- Design scalable and maintainable solution architectures
- Translate business processes into system logic and automation workflows
- Partner with Data Engineering on data models and data interchange patterns
- Implement solutions using APIs, OCR, workflow automation, and data pipelines
- Drive process standardization and reusable frameworks
- Manage vendors and ensure delivery quality
- Define and track automation success metrics

Qualifications
- 3–5+ years in Data Engineering, Automation, Solution Architecture, or Technical Program Management
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale automation solutions
- Ability to work across business and technical domains
- AI/ML experience is a preferred

- Data Engineering fundamentals (tables, data interchange, automation workflows)
- Technical project management across cross-functional teams
- Hands-on execution (not purely managerial)
- Solution architecture design (scalability, performance, maintainability)
- SQL, APIs, data platforms
- OCR / document processing technologies
- Workflow automation tools
- Strong communication and stakeholder alignment
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This role operates in a professional office setting, routinely working with standard office equipment. Generally, due to the nature of this office position, the person in this role would be required to talk and hear, sit or stand for long period of time, and use their hands and fingers, to handle and feel. Occasionally required to walk, reach with arms and hand, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities required by the job include close vision.

Wage Disclaimer: The starting wage for this position is $90,000-$125,000/year
