- Serve as the primary client contact, building trusted, long-term relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Lead strategic planning and contribute to medical communications roadmaps aligned to brand objectives and scientific strategy.
- Maintain deep knowledge of client brands, therapeutic areas, clinical data, and market dynamics to guide project direction.
- Identify evolving client needs, recommend innovative solutions, and drive organic growth to meet or exceed revenue targets.
- Lead weekly client status meetings with timely agendas, recaps, and proactive communication.
- Partner with Scientific Services to ensure deliverables meet client objectives while maintaining scientific integrity.
- Guide execution of core medical communications tactics, including publications, advisory boards, congress activities, speaker programs, MSL materials, omnichannel programs, and digital initiatives.
- Oversee financial health of assigned accounts, including forecasting, margin management, Earned Rate performance, and timely reconciliations.
- Manage scoping, SOW development, and execution through client systems.
- Ensure projects are delivered on scope, on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
- Develop and mentor Manager- and Coordinator-level staff, fostering growth and performance excellence.
- Uphold compliance standards, including SOPs, PhRMA, and Open Payments guidelines.
- Provide onsite leadership for key initiatives and partner with event teams and external vendors to deliver premium experiences.
- Bachelor’s degree required (Communications, Marketing, Life Sciences, or related field preferred); advanced degree is a plus.
- 8–10+ years of experience in medical communications, medical education, pharma marketing, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of the life sciences industry, therapeutic landscapes, and drug development process.
- Experience with strategic planning initiatives such as publications planning, tactical planning, and congress strategy.
- Advanced financial acumen, including forecasting, SOW development, and profitability management.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills with executive-level client presence.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills in fast-paced environments.
- Proven problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated people leadership, coaching, and performance management skills.
- High attention to detail with commitment to quality and compliance.
