This role offers a leadership opportunity in designing, implementing, and optimizing advanced warehouse automation and material handling systems. You will manage complex projects that span software, hardware, and systems integration while ensuring operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The position requires coordinating cross-functional teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to deliver scalable automation solutions that enhance warehouse performance. You will lead system design, implementation, and testing, while driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with technical and operational standards. - Lead end-to-end warehouse automation and material handling projects, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment of software, hardware, and systems.
- Develop and enforce technical configuration standards for automation solutions and ensure compliance across multiple sites.
- Coordinate with IT, operations, project teams, and vendors to manage system integration, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Drive change management initiatives and continuous improvement efforts within warehouse operations.
- Manage vendor contracts, project budgets, and timelines while resolving technical and operational challenges.
- Provide guidance on troubleshooting, functional specifications, and system documentation to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Maintain clear communication with all levels of personnel, from operational staff to executive leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field; technical vocational training or equivalent experience accepted.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in warehouse automation, material handling systems, or related technical project management.
- Strong knowledge of PLC solutions, including Siemens and Allen Bradley systems, and controls network protocols (ProfiBus, ProfiNet, Ethernet, Serial).
- Electrical expertise with 480 VAC, 120 VAC, and 24 VDC systems, and ability to interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Experience with system design, coding, messaging, testing, and integration of large-scale automation systems.
- Proficient in project management concepts and tools, with demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute complex projects.
- Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Project) and ERP systems.
- Lean Six Sigma knowledge is a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% for short periods.
