About This Position
We are seeking a highly motivated Property Management Intern (high school or undergraduate) to join our property management team this Summer season. If you have experience in customer service, event management, hospitality, or restaurants and want to learn about real estate, our Summer Leasing Specialist Intern position may be for you!
What will you do?
- Assist the Smile Managers with various projects related to the preparation, organization, and execution of turnover as well as the lease renewal process
- Support the move-out process including collecting resident keys, performing move-out and final walk inspections, and processing security deposit reconciliations
- Provide exceptional customer service and support through multiple communication channels (email, phone, SMS messaging, Appfolio Contact Center, etc)
- Assist in guiding residents through the move-in process by conducting property tours, answering questions, and assisting in the application process
- Observe and perform tasks associated with the operation of the property including maintenance of resident information systems and resident files
- Perform timely follow-up with customers to ensure the highest-quality service and to build customer relationships
- Learn and comply with all Fair Housing Laws -- (We provide training)
- Pivot, roll up your sleeves, and jump in where needed!

- Are proficient with computer applications and software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Appfolio, Outlook) Have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Some additional things you will need:
- Valid driver’s license
- Position schedule is primarily Monday-Friday 8a-5p, scheduled around 30/hours week
- Availability to work longer hours and weekends during prime leasing season and turnover from mid-July through mid-August
- Must be able to perform the physical functions of the position resident communications, not limited to ability to walk properties, complete physical inspections, deliver communications, and show properties
