Job Overview:

The Supervisor at Barnabas Health Medical Group, located within the Thoracic Surgical Specialists department, will lead a dedicated team of clinicians, overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring the highest standard of patient care. This role involves providing mentorship and training to staff, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical regulations, and maintaining smooth clinical and administrative operations. As a key member of the team, the Supervisor will foster professional growth, contribute to the success of the department, and ensure that clinical services are efficient, compliant, and of the highest quality.

Qualifications:

Required:


• Advanced degree (Master’s, LCSW, LMFT, etc.) and relevant clinical licensure
• Strong leadership and communication skills (both written and oral)
• Proven ability to mentor and provide supervision to licensed/unlicensed staff
• Expertise in clinical areas such as mental health, substance abuse, etc.
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA)
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic, high-pressure environment
• Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
• Experience working in diverse, multi-cultural environments
• Ability to conduct direct field work when needed

Preferred:


• Experience in a healthcare supervisory role
• Familiarity with billing, documentation, and legal standards
• Additional certifications related to specific treatment modalities or clinical areas
• Experience with staff development and training programs

Scheduling Requirements:


• Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Full-Time (FT)
• On-site work in Toms River, NJ

Essential Functions:

• Supervision & Mentorship: Conduct individual and group supervision, review cases, co-sign clinical notes, provide constructive feedback, and support the professional development of staff.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to clinical, legal, ethical, and documentation standards (e.g., accurate records, billing, licensing); liaise with regulatory bodies to maintain compliance.
• Program & Operations Management: Oversee daily clinical operations, manage caseloads, implement treatment plans, handle escalated issues, and coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Staff Development & Training: Recruit, onboard, and train new staff; conduct regular staff meetings; and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
• Administrative Duties: Monitor billable hours, manage performance evaluations, oversee scheduling, and keep updated on best practices in the field.
