Job overview:

Schneider is seeking a Senior Logistics Buyer in Green Bay to develop relationships between Schneider and its key carriers and service suppliers. The Senior Logistics Buyer will manage the contractual relationship of high value contracts and be accountable for all aspects of capacity procurement functions in support of our clients.

Responsibilities:

• Leverage advanced analytics and market intelligence to anticipate customer needs and translate business goals into sourcing strategies.
• Ensure procurement decisions support metrics like cost efficiency, quality assurance and safety compliance.
• Lead the identification, selection and development of high-performing carriers and logistics providers.
• Experience in port dray and intermodal for finding solutions to complete freight requirements.
• Establish multi-year sourcing strategies to optimize cost, service, and risk.
• Lead contract negotiations for rates, service agreements and performance incentives.
• Act as a procurement expert for logistics, finance, operations and compliance teams.

Skills and qualifications:

• Associate degree or equivalent work experience
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Expertise in the areas of port dray and intermodal: Knowledgeable in pricing models and competitive rates within the market.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent analytical abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
