Accounting Manager at Rise Baking Company, LLC – Minneapolis, Minnesota

Job Purpose

Own and oversee the general accounting function, including all general ledgers for the enterprise, policies, the monthly close and consolidation process, and the optimization of processes. Make key accounting decisions and assist with the accounting for business combinations. Develop a team of general accountants and partner with operations finance, FP&A, external auditors, and other key business partners.

Essential Functions

• Own the general ledgers for the consolidated enterprise by creating, maintaining, and enforcing policies and controls around the monthly consolidated close process
• Own, provide training, and enforce the company’s account reconciliation and scorecard policies and processes
• Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations; create and maintain company policies and training in these areas
• Lead and provide meaningful development opportunities for the general accounting team, driving performance by setting goals and fostering an environment to achieve those goals through ongoing feedback
• Drive new initiatives and transformation work, including ERP system implementations, automation of tasks, and building more efficient processes and procedures
• Act as subject matter expert for the SAP ERP
• Play a lead role in the general accounting function around acquisitions of new businesses, including opening balance sheet reviews and general ledger conformity
• Support food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured products
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with 2+ years leading, developing, and coaching staff
• 2+ years of public accounting experience preferred
• Strong foundational knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proven track record of working through transformations, driving efficiencies by challenging the status quo, and seeking out automation opportunities
• Experience leading accounting projects preferred
• Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables and V-Look Ups)
• Proficiency in SAP or other large ERP systems preferred
• Strong problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical skills with the ability to research questions as they arise
• Ability to exercise independent judgment, work on multiple initiatives, and manage time effectively

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $110,000 to $140,000 annually. Pay is based upon several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. Rise Baking Company complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
