Area Sales Manager

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Area Sales Manager in the United States.

This role combines field leadership and strategic account management, overseeing both a high-performing sales team and key healthcare practitioner relationships across a multi-state territory. You will act as a critical driver of regional growth, responsible for executing joint business plans with top-tier customers while ensuring your team of account managers consistently meets and exceeds performance targets. The position requires a strong blend of coaching, commercial execution, and analytical thinking, with direct impact on revenue, customer engagement, and market expansion. You will operate as a hands-on leader who removes barriers, strengthens customer partnerships, and elevates field execution standards. Working cross-functionally with marketing, digital, and category teams, you will help shape regional strategy and ensure alignment with broader business objectives. This is a high-ownership role in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment focused on both people development and measurable commercial outcomes.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will lead regional sales performance by managing a team of account managers while also directly owning relationships with key healthcare practitioner customers. You will be accountable for both strategic execution and day-to-day field performance across your territory.

  • Lead and coach a team of Key Account Managers to achieve sales, volume, and engagement targets across the Midwest region.
  • Personally manage and execute Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with strategic healthcare professional accounts.
  • Drive pipeline visibility, forecast accuracy, and performance tracking through CRM systems and regular reporting.
  • Support team execution by identifying barriers, improving customer engagement, and reinforcing best practices.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with internal leadership and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and performance.
  • Partner with marketing, digital, and category teams to support campaign execution and regional initiatives.
  • Monitor competitive activity and market trends to refine territory strategy and team focus.
  • Foster a high-performance culture through coaching, mentorship, and structured development planning.
  • Identify and develop future leaders within the sales organization through ongoing talent development efforts.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a results-driven sales leader with experience managing teams and driving performance in a healthcare or field sales environment. You bring strong commercial acumen, leadership capability, and a hands-on approach to execution.

  • 5–7 years of progressive sales experience, including 1–2+ years in a leadership or coaching role.
  • Proven success in driving sales results through team performance and strategic account management.
  • Experience with Joint Business Planning (JBP), CRM systems, and pipeline management.
  • Background in selling to healthcare professionals or within healthcare-related markets preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of territory planning, forecasting, and performance management.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels.
  • High level of accountability, adaptability, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Benefits:
  • Competitive annual salary range of $143,000 – $165,000, plus eligibility for discretionary incentive compensation.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) employer contributions for eligible plans.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching.
  • Paid time off, sick leave, and 11 paid company holidays.
  • Additional floating holiday (including birthday or personal observance).
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage and basic life insurance.
  • Quarterly product allowance and employee discounts.
  • Volunteer time off and additional wellbeing-focused benefits.
