About This Position
Holland Applied Technologies, located in Burr Ridge, is a leader in the sanitary process/equipment industry. We fabricate and distribute sanitary equipment and systems for the food, pharmaceutical, personal care, and beverage industries.
We are seeking a Design Engineer (Electrical) to join our team! The Engineer will research, design, develop, and/or test electrical systems for the variety of products we manufacture.
Job Responsibilities:
Target salary range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 (DOQ). The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. The Company also offers 401K with matching employer contributions along with a discretionary profit-sharing benefit to eligible employees. This position is also bonus eligible, which is based on company targets as well as individual performance targets.
Benefits include the following: Medical insurance is available for full time employees and their dependents through Blue Cross Blue Shield. There are various options available including HSA and PPO plans. Similarly, dental, vision, and disability coverages are also available. The company provides full time employees with life insurance and offers employees the ability to purchase additional voluntary supplemental insurance as well. The Company also offers 401k with matching employer contributions along with a discretionary profit-sharing benefit to eligible employees.
We are seeking a Design Engineer (Electrical) to join our team! The Engineer will research, design, develop, and/or test electrical systems for the variety of products we manufacture.
Job Responsibilities:
- Designs and develops electrical systems used in the automation of industrial tasks
- Reads and interprets customer specifications
- Develops electrical system overview drawings
- Develops panel layout drawings
- Develops wiring schematics for 1 phase and 3 phase AC and DC circuits
- Develops loop and bus diagram drawings
- Develops pneumatic diagrams
- Assists in conduit design and panel location
- Size wiring, fuses, components, panels, etc.
- Completes panel heat calculations
- Provides direction during fabrication
- Estimates material and labor costs
- Creates detailed bill of materials
- Obtains quotes and issue purchase orders for parts and services
- Other duties as assigned
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to apply electrical engineering theories, practices, and procedures to automate products and processes.
- Thorough knowledge of NEC, NFPA79, UL standards
- Knowledge of PLC programming would be a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to effectively work with individuals at all levels within the organization.
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering
- 2+ years design experience
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
