Job Summary:

Provide(s) and supervises dental care of patients in custody including but not limited to evaluating dental health program and dental services, evaluating patient care required or administered, dental operator conditions and equipment and monitoring needed dental supplies.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine drilling, filling and extraction of teeth in accordance with Correctional Psychiatric Service [CPS] dental policies.

Evaluate those patients needing or applying for dental care not included under basic healthcare services and make recommendations deemed clinically appropriate.

Document completely all services rendered in the patient’s dental health record.

Instruct patients in good dental hygiene techniques.

Provide in-service training for health staff members on appropriate issues, such as dental hygiene, dental care, dental emergencies and techniques.

It is an essential part of the job that CPS can ask the employee to work beyond his/her regularly scheduled hours.

Follow all security rules and regulations.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Schedule: Per Diem

Per diem opportunity available for consistent Wednesday coverage and every other Thursday, offering 8–12 hour day shifts (e.g., 6:00 AM–6:00 PM or 7:00 AM–7:00 PM).

Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

License to practice as a registered dentist in MA.

One year of general dentistry.

Graduate from an accredited school of dental medicine.

Maintain current CPR certification.
