About This Position
OVERVIEW Supervise and lead quality assurance technicians to ensure proper execution of all procedure to keep compliant with all safety and food regulations, quality standards, and legal requirements. Will provide effective communication to management, transportation, procurement, production maintenance and production departments to ensure efficient operation of the facility. Upholds the company standard of product quality and integrity. Serves as backup for quality assurance supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedule technician’s daily duties
- Trains new technicians
- Provides backup for quality assurance technicians
- Perform water sampling for review third party lab
- Performs weekly environmental checks
- Orders supplies for lab
- Coordinates samples for customers and sales
- Signs off CCP records on a daily basis
- Complete lab equipment verifications
- Complete nonconforming product documents and rejections
- Correct errors in lot numbering and code dates if found after the fact
- Perform the required testing of raw products from both storage and incoming raw product deliveries.
- Ensure that all the required documentation is completed in a timely fashion and that it is accurate and legible.
- Identify and make recommendations for continuous improvements.
- Other duties as requested by the QA Manager/Management.
QUALIFICATIONS Education
- Diploma required.
- 2 years of relevant QA experience in a fruit environment preferred.
- Experience with third party audit and HACCP training ideal.
- Must be self-motivated and have a high attention to detail.
- Proficient using PC, via keyboard/mouse, and various software applications
- Demonstrated ability to maintain integrity and privacy of confidential information.
- Ability to work well under pressure and quickly assess and respond appropriately to questions.
- Ability to adapt to change and learn quickly.
- Good organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work as contributing member within the team.

ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Exposure to cold wet work environment.
- Lifts material/product weighing up to 40 pounds frequently (with assistance).
- Stands, walks, uses hands/fingers to handle or feel, uses hands/arms to reach, sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, and crawls while performing functions of position.
- Color vision is required to perform quality function of position.
- Eye, hearing, hair nets, bump hats may be required.
