About This Position
Akira Technologies is seeking a Senior DevSecOps and Infrastructure Engineer to play a critical role in designing, maintaining, and securing scalable cloud infrastructure within an Azure-based enterprise environment. This position supports modernization efforts through automation, infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes orchestration, and secure CI/CD pipeline implementation.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform/Bicep, and GitHub-based DevSecOps workflows, along with strong scripting capabilities and a proactive approach to infrastructure security and operational efficiency.
While this position is mostly remote, it requires occasional onsite presence in the Washington DC Metro Area. Candidates local to the area are ideal. US Citizenship is likewise required.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure within the Azure Cloud Platform.
- Manage Azure resource groups, tagging strategy, and enterprise resource inventory alignment.
- Support networking configurations including:
- Virtual networks (VNets)
- Subnets
- Route tables
- Private endpoints
- Network Security Groups (NSGs)
- Azure Firewall
- PaaS firewall configurations
- Configure monitoring and logging to support operational visibility and compliance.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using:
- GitHub Actions
- Azure DevOps
- Jenkins (as applicable)
- Implement infrastructure-as-code pipelines using:
- Azure Bicep
- Terraform
- Integrate automated testing, security scanning, and compliance validation into pipelines.
- Deploy, manage, and monitor Kubernetes clusters supporting containerized workloads, including:
- Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Amazon EKS (as applicable)
- Support container lifecycle operations and workload reliability improvements.
- Implement security best practices across cloud infrastructure and DevOps pipelines.
- Support:
- Secrets management
- Container security scanning
- Compliance monitoring
- Identity and access control enforcement
- Manage access control using:
- Entra ID
- Service Principals
- Security groups
- Role assignments
- Develop automation to streamline infrastructure deployment and operational maintenance using:
- PowerShell
- Python
- Bash (as applicable)
- Reduce manual workload through repeatable infrastructure automation patterns.
- Monitor industry trends and cloud platform updates.
- Recommend enhancements to DevSecOps tooling, infrastructure security posture, and automation strategy.
- Support modernization initiatives across the engineering ecosystem.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 4–6 years of hands-on experience in DevSecOps engineering, Infrastructure engineering, Cloud platform support (Azure preferred)
- Strong experience with Azure infrastructure services, Kubernetes (AKS preferred), Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform and/or Bicep), and Git-based workflows and version control practices
- Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins
- Experience implementing Azure identity and access controls using Entra ID and RBAC
- Experience configuring Azure networking components and security controls
- Strong scripting experience in PowerShell (Python/Bash preferred as secondary)
- Ability to work onsite/hybrid within the DC Metro Area
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience administering GitHub Enterprise (organization and repository level)
- Familiarity with GitHub CLI and GitHub API
- Experience editing Git history using command-line Git workflows
- Experience with Databricks CLI
- Databricks administrative experience
- Experience supporting enterprise monitoring and compliance frameworks in Azure
- Experience managing container security tooling within CI/CD pipelines

Salary Range: $135,000 - $160,000
Akira’s pay range for this position considers various factors including skills, years of experience, training, licenses, certifications, alignment with market data, and internal equity in the organization.
