Role Overview

To help drive our continued growth, we are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to join our Short Term Rental (STaR) development team. You will work with a variety of ongoing software development, maintaining and creating new features as required by new business needs. A key focus of this role will be bridging the gap between our established legacy systems and modern architecture.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead the development lifecycle from design through deployment, gathering specifications and driving technical decisions as needed.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the development team.

• Identify opportunities to improve database design, performance, and query efficiency, and implement optimizations where appropriate.

• Leverage AI-powered coding assistants (e.g., Augment and Claude) to analyze legacy systems and assist in refactoring logic into modern, scalable solutions.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance applications across the full stack to improve reliability, performance, and maintainability.

• Refactor and improve legacy systems to enhance maintainability, performance, and architecture.

• Document system builds and configurations; maintain and update documentation as needed.

• Be a collaborative team player who contributes to a positive engineering culture and works effectively with cross-functional teams.

Role Requirements

• 7+ years of experience writing software applications

• Strong experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL), including database normalization, query optimization, and performance tuning.

• Experienced in designing and developing REST API’s

• Experience building and operating cloud-native systems, including services such as AWS Lambda, Amazon ECS, Kafka, and related event-driven architectures.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and cloud operations practices, including CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and monitoring in cloud environments.

• Worked through systems designs and architecture with leadership

• Thrives working in a fast-paced, continuous delivery environment, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about building world-class software

• Proficiency in utilizing AI development tools to interpret, document, and modernize legacy code effectively.
