POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Manager, mechanics will be responsible for scheduling and performing maintenance, modifications, and repairs of company equipment and machinery including trucks, trailers, small engines, and heavy equipment. This position includes ordering parts, and maintenance record keeping.
Responsibilities include:
- Operating service truck safely and efficiently to perform services on jobsites.
- Analyze and diagnose (troubleshoot) equipment malfunctions or failures.
- Repair, replace, or rebuild engines, transmissions, carburetors, final drives, steering, clutches, cross shafts, hydraulic components (including pump motors and valves), and air systems.
- Perform small hand tool maintenance.
- Paint, weld, and fabricate (as required).
- Maintain a tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment and product technology.
- Perform assigned tasks safely, timely, accurately, and efficiently while observing all safety laws, policies, and rules.
- Other duties as assigned by the department supervisor or manager.
This position is full-time, year-round. Overtime is required, with occasional Saturdays. Travel may be required.

Position Requirements:
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.
- Six months minimum experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with heavy equipment, diesel trucks, pavers, and small engines.
- Welding, fabricating, hydraulic, and electrical experience is a plus.
- Must be organized and self-motivated.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Physically able to perform the job functions.
