POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sr. Human Resources Generalist is responsible for administering and supporting a broad range of human resources programs and processes with minimal supervision. This includes but is not limited to employee relations, staffing, performance management, compliance, and HR operations.
The Sr. HR Generalist works closely with local leadership and employees to ensure consistent application of company policies and compliance with applicable employment laws, while supporting a positive and productive work environment. The Sr. Human Resource Generalist receives authority from and reports to the Director of Human Resources.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
HR Support & Leadership Collaboration
- Support local leadership and employees on day-to-day human resources matters, including policy interpretation, employee relations, and performance management.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding HR programs, policies, and procedures.
- Escalates high risk, precedent-setting, or legally sensitive matters to the Director of Human Resources.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Coordinate and support full-cycle recruiting activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding for hourly and salaried roles
- Assist with workforce planning activities and staffing needs in coordination with local leadership and corporate HR
- Maintain relationships with staffing agencies, local schools, colleges, and workforce agencies to support recruiting efforts
Performance Management & Employee Development
- Administer performance management processes, including performance reviews, documentation, coaching support, and corrective action processes
- Coordinate and deliver employee and supervisor training programs, including orientation, compliance training, interviewing skills, harassment prevention, and performance management
- Support succession planning and employee development activities as directed.
Compensation, Benefits & HR Programs
- Administer compensation and benefits programs in accordance with company guidelines; assist employees with benefit enrollment, changes, and general inquiries
- Support employee engagement initiatives and assist with collecting feedback and participation metrics
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Assist in resolving employee relations issues, including investigations, documentation, and corrective actions, in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies
- Support the execution and documentation of the location’s Affirmative Action Plan
- Maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and security of employee records and personal information
Leave Administration & Risk Management
- Coordinate workers’ compensation claims and administer concurrent FMLA and leave administration, as applicable
- Report workplace injuries and accidents to insurance carriers as required (Texas-specific where applicable)
- Maintain required documentation and tracking related to leaves and claims
Health, Safety & Wellness Support
- Partner with HSE and local leadership to support a safe working environment
- Coordinate pre-employment physicals, drug and alcohol testing, and reasonable suspicion testing programs
HR Operations, Systems & Reporting
- Partner with management and the Quality Department to create and maintain job descriptions
- Prepare routine HR reports and assist with data collection and analysis
- Maintain accurate data in HRIS, timekeeping, and applicant tracking systems
Communication & Engagement
- Assist with local employee communication initiatives, including newsletters, postings, and communication TV content
- Coordinate company events and employee activities at assigned locations
- Coordinate and support community engagement and outreach activities, including partnerships with local schools/colleges, workforce agencies, charities, and community organizations
Other
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, or related field; equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive human resources experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- Broad knowledge of HR generalist functions, including employee relations, recruiting, compliance, and HR administration
- Working knowledge of all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Experience supporting both hourly and salaried employee populations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally at all levels of the organization
- High level of integrity with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience using HRIS, timekeeping and applicant tracking systems. ADP experience preferred
- Effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with workplace health & safety regulations and practices in a manufacturing environment
- Pass motor vehicle report (MVR) check
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Use of a computer, telephone, and other office equipment, including copier/scanner, etc.

- Occasional bending, stooping, carrying
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate
- Frequent in-town travel
- Out-of-town or overnight travel as needed
