About the Role
At Whirlwind Steel, we design and manufacture high-quality metal building systems used across a wide range of industries. As a Manufacturing Support Associate, you’ll play a hands-on role in keeping our production operations running efficiently. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, thrives in a team environment, and is looking to grow within a manufacturing setting.
What You’ll Do
- Support daily production activities by moving materials, components, and finished goods throughout the facility
- Assist operators and team members on the production line as needed
- Perform basic quality checks to identify visible defects or inconsistencies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace at all times
- Prepare tools, equipment, and work areas for upcoming production runs
- Follow all company safety standards and report any concerns immediately
- Communicate effectively with team members and leadership to keep workflow on track
- Take initiative to learn new skills and contribute to process improvements
- Complete additional tasks as assigned to support production needs
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing or industrial environments is helpful
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving materials
- Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and take direction
- Experience operating an overhead crane is a plus, but not required
- Basic math skills to support measurements and production tasks
