Psychiatrist - Outpatient at Akicita Federal, LLC – Charlotte, North Carolina

The Psychiatry Physician provides high-quality psychiatric care to eligible veterans within the MEDVAMC system. The standard of care must meet or exceed national standards established by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, comparable to services provided in state-of-the-art civilian medical facilities.

Location: Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC), Houston, TX, and/or its nine (9) Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).

Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00a-4:30p

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care: Provide a full range of psychiatric services as required by the facility's mission.

Patient Safety: Adhere to all established patient safety and infection control standards, including active efforts to prevent medication errors, falls, and patient injuries.

Documentation: Complete all required clinical documentation, including Quality Management (QM) and Performance Improvement (PI) paperwork regarding procedures, complications, and outcomes.

Incident Reporting: Notify the Contracting Officers Representative (COR) of any patient safety incidents within 24 hours and document them in the VA Patient Safety Reporting System.

Collaboration: Participate in weekly Program Staff meetings.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certification: * Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

o Must maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent.

Licensure: Must hold a current, full, and unrestricted license in one or more U.S. states. Providers with a history of restricted, suspended, or revoked licenses will not be considered.

Citizenship: Must be US Citizen

Security: Must pass required background investigations and comply with all VA privacy and cybersecurity training.
