Description:
The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on production and facility equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others. It supports Plaskolite’s operational goals by minimizing unplanned downtime, improving equipment reliability, and adhering to safety and quality standards. Maintenance Technicians are expected to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to sustain optimal plant performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems according to established protocols and timelines.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, assess issues, and implement effective repairs in coordination with operations teams.
- Read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints, schematics, manuals, and wiring diagrams to support accurate repair and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work performed in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including work orders and parts usage.
- Assist in the installation, commissioning, and modification of machinery and equipment as directed by engineering or maintenance leadership.
- Support equipment reliability initiatives, including root cause analysis and continuous improvement of maintenance practices.
- Follow and enforce all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, and other company and regulatory safety standards.
- Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations.
- Participate in cross-training, safety meetings, and technical training to stay current with equipment and systems.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance workspaces and tools in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High School or GED
- 1-3 years of work experience
- Requires an electrical or mechanical certification.
- Must have the ability to read, understand, and update print.
- Must possess a good understanding of mechanical/electrical design
- Basic understanding of preventative maintenance, and condition monitoring techniques.
- Possess a good understanding for mechanical design & operation, including hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes, lubrication, etc.
