Position Summary: We are looking for a Director, Global Strategy, Market Intelligence & Commercial Capabilities to support the Strategy & Intelligence organization, responsible for shaping enterprise strategy through market intelligence, consumer insight, and the development of scalable commercial capabilities.
This role combines strategic intelligence leadership (with emphasis on LATAM, Canada, and priority international markets) and U.S.-focused commercial enablement, including guiding Market/Channel Expansion, Sales Enablement, Revenue Growth Management (RGM), and Shopper/Channel Analytics.
The Director acts as a strategic partner to executive leadership, translating data, market signals, and consumer understanding into decisions that drive growth, margin, and execution excellence. While this role may not have large direct reports initially, it carries significant leadership influence, capability ownership, and cross-functional accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
Global Strategy & Market Intelligence Leadership
Lead enterprise market intelligence across global markets, including LATAM, Canada, and other strategic regions.
Provide executive-ready insights on market size, growth drivers, competitive dynamics, pricing architecture, and channel evolution.
Identify and interpret macroeconomic, regulatory, cultural, and trade factors impacting global growth strategy.
Serve as a trusted strategic advisor and collaborate with the VP of Strategy & Intelligence and executive leadership.
U.S. Commercial Strategy & Capability Ownership
Lead the development and scaling of Sales Enablement capabilities, ensuring insights translate into field-ready tools, playbooks, and narratives.
Own Shopper & Channel Analytics, providing fact-based guidance on channel strategy, assortment, pricing ladders, and promotional effectiveness.
Partner with Sales and Trade Marketing to embed analytics into Joint Business Planning (JBP) and customer conversations.
Act as a thought leader for Revenue Growth Management (RGM)—supporting pricing strategy, pack architecture, mix optimization, and margin improvement initiatives.
Consumer, Shopper & Cultural Insight Integration
Champion deep consumer and shopper understanding across global and U.S. markets.
Integrate quantitative and qualitative insights to explain not only what is happening, but why.
Ensure consumer, shopper, and cultural insights are embedded into brand strategy, innovation pipelines, and go-to-market decisions.
Balance global brand consistency with local relevance and execution realities.
Advanced Analytics & Insight Enablement
Oversee the integration of syndicated data (Nielsen, Circana, Euromonitor), distributor data, CRM, digital, and social intelligence.
Partner closely with Data Engineering & Advanced Analytics leadership to ensure analytical rigor, consistency, and scalability.
Define insight frameworks, KPIs, and dashboards that track both leading and lagging indicators of growth.
Ensure insights are translated into actionable guidance for Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Innovation teams.
Capability Building & Operating Model Leadership
Help lead the design and rollout of standardized Strategy & Intelligence capabilities across regions and functions.
Build repeatable processes, tools, and learning agendas for:
Market & Competitive Intelligence
Shopper/Channel Analytics
RGM and Commercial Effectiveness
Sales Enablement & Storytelling
Mentor and coach team members across Strategy, Insights, and Analytics—even without direct reporting lines.
Establish best practices and governance for insight quality, speed, and decision impact.
Executive Communication & Influence
Deliver clear, compelling strategic narratives to executive leadership and cross-functional partners.
Facilitate alignment sessions, strategy reviews, and insight-to-action workshops.
Elevate the perception of Strategy & Intelligence as a growth accelerator, not a reporting function.
Influence decisions through credibility, synthesis, and business acumen rather than hierarchy.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, International Studies, Data Analytics, or related field
(MBA or Master’s degree strongly preferred)
10–15+ years of experience in Strategy, Market Intelligence, Consumer Insights, Commercial Analytics, or Consulting within CPG or consumer-driven industries
Proven experience operating at Director level or equivalent senior IC/consulting role
Deep familiarity with syndicated data (Nielsen, Circana, Euromonitor) and commercial analytics
Strong understanding of Sales, Trade, RGM, Shopper, and Channel dynamics
Demonstrated success translating insights into enterprise and commercial decisions
Exceptional executive communication, storytelling, and influence skills
Comfort leading through ambiguity and cross-functional complexity
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading Sales Enablement, RGM, or Shopper/Channel Analytics capabilities
International experience across LATAM, Canada, or other global markets
Business fluency in Spanish; Portuguese or French a plus
Background in management consulting, corporate strategy, or global insights leadership
Experience in food & beverage, snacks, noodles, or culturally driven categories
The base salary for this position is between $140,000.00 and $165,000.00 per year. Actual compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, and location. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation and benefits, including an annual incentive bonus, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, PTO/FTO, and a 401(k) plan with company match.
