Position Summary

Park Country Club, a premier private club located in Williamsville, New York, is seeking responsible, attentive, and safety-focused Seasonal Lifeguards to join our Aquatics team for the summer season. Lifeguards play a vital role in ensuring a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable pool environment for our members and guests while maintaining compliance with all New York State and local safety regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain constant and vigilant surveillance of the swimming pool, deck areas, and surrounding facilities
• Enforce all pool rules, safety regulations, and Club policies in a professional and courteous manner
• Respond promptly and effectively to aquatic emergencies, including rescues, first aid, and CPR/AED administration
• Complete incident, accident, and rescue reports accurately and in a timely manner
• Perform routine safety inspections of pool areas, equipment, and rescue supplies
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe pool deck and guard area
• Assist with pool opening and closing procedures as assigned
• Provide courteous, attentive, and respectful service to members and guests at all times
• Communicate safety concerns, maintenance needs, and member issues promptly to Aquatics Management

Qualifications (NYS-Compliant)

• Must be at least 16 years of age at time of hire, in accordance with New York State labor law
• Current Lifeguard Certification from a nationally recognized organization (American Red Cross, Ellis & Associates, or equivalent), compliant with New York State Department of Health requirements
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
• Ability to successfully complete all required swim tests and lifeguard skill assessments
• Strong situational awareness and attention to detail
• Professional demeanor with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm, focused, and decisive in emergency situations
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, within NYS labor regulations

Work Hours & Labor Compliance

• Seasonal, part-time position
• Scheduling will comply with New York State Labor Law, including restrictions related to:
  • Maximum allowable hours for minors (if under 18)
  • Required meal and rest breaks
  • Permitted working hours on school and non-school days
• Working papers will be required for employees under the age of 18

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, sit, walk, and remain alert for extended periods of time
• Ability to perform water rescues and assist individuals in emergency situations
• Ability to lift and carry rescue equipment and provide physical assistance as needed
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Work Environment

• Outdoor swimming pool and deck areas
• Seasonal position typically runs from May through September
