Job Description
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM; Mandatory OT on some Friday's.
1-hour lunch and two 10-minute breaks
Job Summary: Coordinate the Pasteurization Department and the Neo-Pure process to ensure efficiency, food quality, and safety.
Job Responsibilities:
· Adhering to and confirming compliance of GMPs, SQF, FDA, Internal SOPs, and all other designated requirements. Take disciplinary action by completing write-ups for employees found not adhering to all requirements.
· Coordination of a team to complete pasteurization of tree nuts and seeds.
· Coordination and/or assistance of a team to achieve sanitation of all relevant equipment.
· Close observance of flow rates, temperatures, product throughput, and organoleptic qualities on a constant basis.
· Chemical testing including but not limited to Titration and Refraction.
· Physical testing including but not limited to Bulk Density and Moisture.
· Communication with international manufacturers, maintenance, quality, and production teams.
· Creation and updates of Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions pertaining to Production, and Safety.
· Implementation of Safety Procedures and Policies.
· Verification of Critical Control Points and Critical Quality Points as designated by the Food Safety Plan.
· Assist in the Validation of equipment.
· Verification of Pest Control program as required.
· Oversee and/or assist in the verification of pre-op documentation and sanitation via standard written documentation and/or electronic documentation.
· Oversee and/or assist in maintaining inventory on chemicals and other consumables inventory.
· Oversee and/or assist in the continued cleanliness of all production and warehouse spaces to SQF standards.
· Verification and updates for timecards relevant to the pasteurization team.
· Accountability actions necessary to the pasteurization team.
· All staff MUST report any known food safety issues to supervisor.
· All staff has authority to place on hold any products and/or equipment that do not meet Texas Star Nut and Food Co., Inc food safety standards.
· Maintain inventory of overproduced finished products and ensure the inventory is dispositioned and utilized properly.
· Create labels as needed to maintain efficient production.
· Any other duties assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:Minimum Requirements:
- Must be detailed oriented.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and team interaction skills.
- Trained in food safety and quality.
- Must be punctual and dependable.
- Must be able to comply with all safety and cleanliness requirements
- Moderate knowledge of computer usage and Microsoft software.
- Proficient use of standing and sitting forklifts.
- Some mechanical understanding and experience with machine operation.
Abilities Required:
- Ability to climb ladders/steps and work on platforms. Lift boxes 50lbs. or less
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of ERP systems
