Job Summary:
- Under the direction of the RN Team Lead, the Patient Care Assistant works as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team providing efficient and appropriate assistance with select patient and unit needs. The PCT will also perform a variety of clerical duties and various tasks to provide a well-supplied, safe and clean patient unit.
DEPARTMENT SCOPE OF SERVICE
- The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is an acuity adjustable unit providing care to a diverse patient population requiring medical-surgical and telemetry levels of care, as well as patients requiring a higher level of care, including, but not limited to, those on BiPap, Insulin drips, or Cardizem drips. The PCU is a 24/7/365 service with 25 beds, which includes 5 monitored beds and 7 portable telemetry units. Medical patients are admitted by the 24/7 Hospitalist service, and surgical patients are admitted by the surgeon.
PCU patients are reviewed daily by an interdisciplinary team at ICC rounds. (Interdisciplinary Care Coordination) Care is reviewed and discharge planning is done.
Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- EXPERIENCE/SKILL SETS:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment with excellent organizational, curstomer service and prioritization skills required.
- CPR within 3 months of hire.

The listed range represents the pay scale reasonably expected for a successful candidate based on factors such as relevant experience, education, internal equity, and market competitiveness. Final compensation will be determined during the hiring process.
