Part-Time Thrift Center Support and Driver in Largo, Florida at Indian Rocks Recruiting

Thrift Center Support and Driver is a vital part-time role in the day-to-day operations of our ministry-driven retail environment. This position is an opportunity to serve others with compassion, represent Christ through your actions, and help create a welcoming space for our community. You will assist customers, encourage volunteers, help organize donations, drive our box truck for pickups, and help maintain a clean and inviting store. Your work will contribute directly to the mission of Indian Rocks Church. This is a hands-on, team-oriented role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting, enjoys serving others, and has a heart for ministry.

Essential Functions:

• Must give testimony and evidence of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and sense the call of God to a serving ministry.
• Drive a box truck to pick up furniture and other donations from the community.
• Safely move heavy furniture and heavier donations as needed, demonstrating responsibility and caution when handling potentially bulky items.
• Greet all customers warmly and assist them with questions about merchandise and store policies, fostering a positive, friendly shopping experience aligned with our ministry values.
• Support and guide volunteers to help cultivate a spirit of teamwork and gratitude among our volunteer base.
• Operate the cash register accurately and with integrity.
• Receive, sort, and prepare donated items, ensuring they meet display and quality standards.
• Identify and process recyclable items to support our environmental stewardship efforts.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and attractive sales floor and ensure items are well-presented and ready for sale.

• Must be at least 25 years of age (due to vehicle insurance requirements) and maintain a clean driving record.
• Must be able to safely and confidently operate a box truck (no CDL required).
• Must be physically able to lift 50 lbs and be comfortable with physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy furniture and items.
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be proficient in and able to communicate effectively through written and verbal direction.
• Demonstrate a consistent Christian lifestyle as referenced by the Mission, Statement of Faith, and Leadership Guidelines of Indian Rocks.
• Must be an active member of Indian Rocks as defined by regular attendance in worship services, regular attendance/involvement in an Indian Rocks Connection Group or Small Group, and commitment to systematic stewardship and faithful in tithing.
