This is a senior medical affairs leadership role focused on shaping scientific strategy and external engagement within the neurological disease space. The position plays a key role in connecting clinical science, research insights, and medical strategy to accelerate evidence generation and support product development across the lifecycle. Acting as a strategic partner to internal and external stakeholders, the Associate Director will engage with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and research partners to advance scientific understanding and inform clinical and commercial strategy. The role also contributes to integrated evidence planning, study design, and dissemination of scientific data across global markets. This is a highly collaborative and impactful position within a fast-evolving diagnostics and life sciences environment, where medical insight directly influences innovation and patient impact.
- Develop and execute integrated medical and scientific strategies for neurological disease programs, including gap analyses and integrated evidence planning.
- Build disease maps and patient journey frameworks in collaboration with global franchise and cross-functional teams to guide scientific and clinical strategy.
- Engage with key opinion leaders and external stakeholders to generate scientific insights and translate them into actionable guidance for internal teams.
- Support the design, planning, and execution of clinical and investigator-initiated studies, including study funnel development and budget oversight.
- Forecast and coordinate scientific communications, including publications, abstracts, posters, and congress presentations.
- Contribute to Scientific Advisory Boards and provide medical input into clinical development and product strategy.
- Collaborate closely with commercial, clinical operations, R&D, regulatory, and statistics teams to ensure alignment of medical affairs activities.
- Author and oversee medical grants and support dissemination of scientific data aligned with product and portfolio strategy.
- Represent the organization at external scientific meetings, investigator gatherings, and industry conferences.
- Act as a deputy to senior medical leadership when required and support broader medical affairs initiatives.
- Advanced medical or scientific degree required (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent).
- 14+ years of experience in medical affairs, clinical research, or life sciences industry roles.
- Strong expertise in neurological diseases or relevant therapeutic areas preferred.
- Solid understanding of clinical trial methodology, regulatory requirements, and study design principles.
- Experience working with global cross-functional teams in medical, clinical, and commercial environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific data into clear insights for diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to engage and influence key opinion leaders and external scientific stakeholders.
- Experience contributing to or leading scientific strategy, evidence generation, or publication planning.
- Strong collaboration skills with ability to align multiple internal functions around medical strategy.
- Willingness and ability to travel 20–25% domestically and internationally.
- MBA or additional business-related training is a plus.
- Prior experience in pharma, biotech, or diagnostics industry strongly preferred.
- Competitive annual salary range of $190,000–$230,000.
