Job Description

Solutions Engineer, Associate

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Solutions Engineer, Associate in United States.

This role serves as a key technical bridge between sales teams and clients in the B2B payments ecosystem, helping translate complex payment and integration needs into clear, functional solutions. You will support the pre-sales process by understanding merchant requirements, identifying integration opportunities, and designing tailored solutions that leverage a modern payment platform. Working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, you will help ensure seamless onboarding from initial discovery through to live integration. The position is ideal for someone early in their solutions engineering career who enjoys problem-solving, customer interaction, and understanding how systems connect. You will also act as an internal advocate for customers by sharing insights with product teams to improve offerings and address real-world needs. This is a highly collaborative, remote-friendly role with strong exposure to both sales engineering and product strategy within the payments space.

Accountabilities:
  • Partner with Sales teams during pre-sales discovery to understand merchant, partner, and ISV requirements and align technical solutions accordingly.
  • Design and propose tailored integration architectures that leverage payment gateway capabilities and API-based workflows.
  • Provide technical advisory support to optimize customer payment processes, improving efficiency, security, and scalability.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and product teams by communicating feedback, feature requests, and market needs.
  • Support smooth post-sale transitions by collaborating with developer support teams to ensure successful integrations.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation, including integration guides, workflows, and best practice materials.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in the payments industry (gateway, processor, or merchant services environment preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical, support, or solutions-oriented role.
  • Strong understanding of payment ecosystems, including gateways, processors, and merchant service workflows.
  • Hands-on experience working with APIs, particularly JSON-based APIs, and familiarity with tools such as Postman.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple, actionable guidance for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree not required; practical experience and industry knowledge are highly valued.
Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary of $70,000–$80,000 plus quarterly incentive plan.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Flexible paid time off policy.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Paid maternity and paternity leave.
  • Mental health support and well-being programs.
  • Company-funded lifestyle spending account.
  • Education assistance programs.
  • Remote-friendly work environment with occasional travel (up to 20%).
