RN/Registered Nurse- Epilepsy Monitoring, Full time, Nights

Work location: 4400 Long Prairie Rd., Flower Mound, TX 75028

Work hours: Full Time, Nights

Department highlights:

• ICU- 8 beds - variety of medical and surgical diagnosis ( we do not do major cardiac recovery yet- growing the program)

• IMC (Intermediate Care Unit / ( also referred to others as "ICU Step Down)- 12 bed with EMU/EEG capability

• Team work - you are never alone and patient safety is one of the top priorities

• Small community feel, everyone knows everyone with family like atmosphere

Here's What You Need

  • Diploma in Nursing required, or
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required, or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, or
  • Successful completion of an RN residency program
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - active license required upon hire
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) - required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - required within 90 days of hire
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Training - required within 90 days of hire

What You Will Do

Provides Safe, Patient-Centered Care: Assesses and addresses physical, emotional, psychological, and social needs; delivers individualized care plans; maintains comfort; and ensures accurate documentation, medication safety, and timely assessments.

Demonstrates Respectful, Compassionate Communication: Treats patients and families with dignity through active listening, non-judgmental attitudes, appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication, reassurance, and use of approved communication tools.

Engages Patients and Families in Care Decisions: Incorporates patient values and preferences, involves families as appropriate, supports shared decision-making, and provides education using evidence-based resources and teach-back methods.

Promotes a Safe, Healing Environment: Maintains privacy, confidentiality, and safety; follows national patient safety goals; utilizes error-prevention tools and technology; and supports clean, secure, and therapeutic surroundings.

Collaborates, Leads, and Grows Professionally: Works effectively within interdisciplinary teams; adapts to changing patient and staffing needs; participates in shared governance, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice; and demonstrates commitment to ongoing professional development and ethical nursing practice.
