JOB SUMMARY
Wolf by Vanderpump is a high-energy, design-forward concept where great service and attention to detail set the standard. As Lead Bartender, you’ll support the Bar Manager in running daily operations, leading the team, and delivering a consistent, elevated guest experience behind the bar.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Report directly to the Bar Manager, supporting daily operations and team leadership
- Monitor staff hours daily and adjust scheduling in alignment with business levels and direction from the Bar Manager
- Receive and verify liquor inventory in the absence of the Bar Manager
- Lead opening and closing checklists for the bar team
- Ensure all guests are properly ID’d to meet legal alcohol service requirements
- Present menus, answer questions, and take food and beverage orders from guests and service staff
- Prepare and execute drink orders including signature cocktails, wine, liquor, and beer with consistency and precision
- Serve appetizers and food items to guests seated at the bar
- Monitor lounge and bar seating to ensure all guests are acknowledged and served promptly
- Process payments accurately; compute bills, track, and balance receipts
- Proactively manage guest behavior by limiting over-service and escalating concerns to management when necessary
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar, including glassware, tools, and workstations
- Ensure kitchen and bar areas are reset, cleaned, and stocked at the end of each shift
- Plan, organize, and oversee the day-to-day operations of the lounge/bar area
- Support garnishing and prep teams as needed
- Communicate inventory needs, shortages, or discrepancies to the Bar Manager
- Ensure all bartenders follow standardized drink recipes and presentation guidelines
- Maintain accurate temperature logs and waste logs daily
- Receive, date, and inspect food and beverage deliveries for quality and accuracy
- Ensure all bar staff properly report tips in compliance with company standards
- Take on additional duties as assigned by management to support the smooth operation of the hotel
WHAT YOU BRING
- At least 5 years of progressive hospitality leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of mixology, spirits, wine, and elevated bar service standards
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and hold a team accountable in a fast-paced environment
- A sharp eye for detail and commitment to consistency in every drink and guest interaction
- Confidence handling high-volume service while maintaining composure and quality
- Solid understanding of inventory control, cost management, and bar operations
- Excellent communication skills with a guest-first mindset
- Knowledge of alcohol laws, responsible service practices, and safety standards
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands
