This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and executing enterprise-wide cybersecurity architecture and engineering strategy within a complex, cloud-first financial technology environment. The position plays a critical role in protecting large-scale, mission-critical financial infrastructure that supports a significant portion of the U.S. mortgage-backed securities market. You will lead the design of secure, scalable, and resilient cybersecurity frameworks while ensuring alignment with regulatory, compliance, and business objectives. This role combines strategic vision with deep technical expertise, driving modernization across cloud security, DevSecOps, and enterprise security tooling. You will collaborate closely with IT, engineering, and business leadership to embed security into all layers of the organization. The environment is highly dynamic, innovation-driven, and focused on continuous improvement, operational excellence, and risk reduction at scale.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the design and execution of enterprise cybersecurity architecture and engineering strategy across cloud-based financial systems.
  • Develop and enforce security architecture standards, patterns, and frameworks in alignment with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee cybersecurity engineering functions, including deployment, integration, and configuration of security tools and platforms.
  • Partner with business, IT, and engineering leaders to identify risks, define solutions, and embed security into product and system design.
  • Drive adoption of secure development practices, including DevSecOps, application security, and cloud-native security controls.
  • Manage and evolve the organization’s cybersecurity tool ecosystem, including evaluation, optimization, and consolidation of security technologies.
  • Lead external security assessments and translate findings into executive-level insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Define and track cybersecurity performance metrics to measure program effectiveness and communicate outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Serve as a senior subject matter expert on cyber risk, compliance frameworks, and enterprise security best practices.
  • Promote cross-functional knowledge sharing and foster a security-first culture across technical and business teams.
Requirements:
  • 12+ years of experience building and leading enterprise cybersecurity programs in large, complex environments.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing cybersecurity architecture and engineering teams.
  • Strong expertise in cybersecurity architecture principles including network security, cloud security, application security, and data protection.
  • Deep experience with cloud environments, particularly AWS, and modern security tooling across public, private, and hybrid cloud models.
  • Strong knowledge of DevSecOps practices, Zero Trust architecture, and enterprise security frameworks.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and risk frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT, COSO, or SOC compliance standards.
  • Proven ability to assess, communicate, and mitigate complex cybersecurity risks in enterprise environments.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills with experience collaborating across technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical risks into clear business impacts.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; industry certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or CISM strongly preferred.
  • Experience in financial services or mortgage/secondary markets is a plus.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range between $205,250 and $236,500 USD annually.
  • Performance-based bonus structure.
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Generous paid time off and flexible remote work arrangement.
  • Professional development and leadership growth opportunities.
  • Exposure to large-scale, mission-critical financial technology systems.
  • Inclusive and performance-driven work environment.
