About Anani Restaurant Group

Anani Restaurant Group was founded by award-winning Detroit chef Omar Anani, owner of Saffron De Twah, a nationally recognized restaurant known for its vibrant, globally inspired cuisine. Chef Anani is a James Beard Award finalist whose work has helped shape Detroit’s modern food scene.

As the restaurant group continues to grow, new concepts are being developed to expand this vision of culture, hospitality, and community. Anani Restaurant Group is excited to announce Nomad Rotisserie, the newest concept to join the restaurant portfolio, and this role will play a vital part in supporting its launch and ongoing success.

Working with Anani Restaurant Group is more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to be part of a passionate team dedicated to creating memorable dining experiences that bring people together over a shared meal while building something meaningful.

Position Summary

As a Back of House Team Member at Nomad Rotisserie, you are the engine of the kitchen. You are responsible for executing the majority of our menu with speed, precision, and consistency while maintaining the rhythm and flow of service. This role goes beyond cooking— you are controlling the flow of service, upholding quality standards, and keeping the kitchen consistently clean, organized, and running efficiently.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives on repetition, takes pride in execution, and performs at a high level under pressure without constant supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run key stations on the hot line, including rotisserie, proteins, and wrap pressing.
  • Execute menu items with consistency, accuracy, and speed.
  • Maintain proper prep levels to ensure uninterrupted service during peak periods.
  • Keep your station clean, organized, and fully stocked at all times.
  • Communicate ticket times and delays clearly with front-of-house team members.
  • Monitor ticket flow and adjust pace to prevent bottlenecks or service slowdowns.
  • Uphold food safety, sanitation, and quality standards at all times.
  • Assist with dishwashing and general cleaning during slower periods to support overall operations.

Cross-Training Responsibilities

At Nomad, we believe in a one team philosophy. While your primary home will be supporting the back of house, you will have the exciting opportunity to be cross-trained to jump in to support the front-of-house as needed. As a cross-trained team member, you will help:

  • Confidently take and manage guest orders both in person and over the phone, delivering friendly and efficient customer service.
  • Support upselling and enhancing the overall guest experience.
  • Run food to tables promptly and accurately, ensuring orders are delivered correctly and guests receive attentive, professional service.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience working a fast-paced kitchen line (quick service or high-volume environments strongly preferred).
  • Experience working with hot line equipment (e.g., grills, rotisserie, presses) is a strong asset.
  • Solid knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices.
  • Ability to read and manage tickets efficiently while maintaining pace and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay organized, stocked, and service-ready throughout an entire shift.
  • Comfortable working under pressure during peak periods without compromising standards.
  • Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong team player with clear communication skills in a fast-moving kitchen environment.
  • Reliable transportation required to ensure consistent, on-time arrival for scheduled shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment with continuous workflow during peak hours.
  • Prolonged standing and movement (up to 8+ hours per shift).
  • Frequent exposure to heat, open flames, and hot cooking surfaces.
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to approximately 25–50 lbs.
  • Repetitive motions including food prep, assembly, and cleaning tasks.
  • Moderate to high noise levels with multiple team members working in close proximity.
