This role is a hands-on finance leadership position responsible for overseeing core accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance across multiple financial processes. You will act as the primary accounting resource, managing day-to-day transactional activities while also supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The position combines operational execution with analytical oversight, requiring both precision and autonomy. You will coordinate closely with internal teams to ensure timely financial insights that support business decisions. In addition, you will manage and mentor a direct report while improving workflows and maintaining strong internal controls. This is a high-impact role suited for a detail-driven accounting professional who thrives in structured yet fast-moving environments.
In this role, you will oversee the full scope of accounting operations while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across financial processes:
- Manage general ledger activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and reconciliations.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and reconciliations for management review.
- Supervise and mentor one direct report, supporting daily accounting operations and performance.
- Handle invoicing, billing, vendor payments, collections, and cash application processes.
- Coordinate tax compliance activities, including sales tax filings and coordination of income tax schedules.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and ensure financial accuracy.
This position requires strong technical accounting expertise, operational ownership, and the ability to manage multiple financial workflows independently:
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting, financial management, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, financial reporting, and tax compliance requirements.
- Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) is strongly required.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Office Suite, and payment processing systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
