Summary

The Production Director is responsible for leading and scaling manufacturing operations across two sites, with primary responsibility for the Longmont, CO campus (representing ~95% of revenue) and oversight of the Hatfield, PA facility.

This role is responsible for transforming and scaling SENS production operations from a foundational state into a highly disciplined, high-performing manufacturing system capable of supporting $500M in revenue. This leader will drive production execution, operational scalability, and performance excellence across a complex mix of value streams, including flow products, CTO systems, and ETO system products. This role will be responsible for execution of production growth, establishing operating standards, and cross-functional collaboration with Safety, S&OP, Supply Chain, Quality, and Continuous Improvement.

This is a hands-on transformation role, not a maintenance role. The successful candidate will bring deep subject matter expertise in Lean manufacturing and production systems, with a proven track record of building structure, developing leaders, and driving operational maturity during periods of rapid growth.

Responsibilities

Production Leadership & Execution

  • Lead all production operations across multiple value streams (flow, CTO, ETO).
  • Ensure on-time delivery, throughput, and productivity targets are consistently met.
  • Drive daily management systems (e.g. tier accountability), visual management, and production accountability.
  • Develop and lead production supervisors and frontline leadership teams.
  • Clear communication to organization of status and goals and empowerment of front-line leaders.
  • Identify gaps in current processes and drive systematic closure of execution and capability gaps.
  • Lead organizational change with clarity, consistency, and transparency.

Operational Scaling & Transformation

  • Build and execute a roadmap to scale manufacturing operations to support $500M in revenue.
  • Transition operations from low-to-mid maturity into a high-performance, high-reliability production system.
  • Establish standardized work, capacity planning frameworks, and production control systems.
  • Lead the design and deployment of a scalable production operating system, including:
    • Standard work at all levels
    • Tiered daily management (L1–L3)
    • Visual management and performance tracking
    • Structured escalation and problem-solving
  • Implement best-in-class manufacturing practices aligned with Lean principles.

Multi-Site Leadership

  • Directly manage production at the Longmont campus.
  • Provide leadership oversight to the Site Operations Manager in Hatfield, PA.
  • Ensure alignment, consistency, and performance across both locations.

  • Drive alignment between production execution and upstream/downstream functions.
  • Partner closely with:
    • Procurement
    • Supply Chain

    • Quality
    • Safety

Performance Management

  • Establish and track KPIs across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
  • Drive root cause problem-solving and corrective action processes.
  • Build a high-accountability culture while maintaining strong employee engagement during rapid growth.
  • Develop supervisors and team leads into independent, empowered operators.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including senior-level production leadership.
  • Proven experience leading operations at or near $500M scale (or equivalent complexity).
  • Demonstrated success scaling operations from an immature or fragmented state to a high-performing, standardized production system.
  • Hands-on experience managing multiple manufacturing value streams, including: Flow production, Configure-to-order (CTO), and Engineer-to-order (ETO).
  • Strong leadership of frontline supervisors and production teams.
  • Deep understanding of Lean manufacturing, flow optimization, and production systems.
  • Experience implementing structured production management systems (tiered accountability, KPIs, visual management).
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed environment without direct ownership of support functions.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and execution skills.
  • Comfortable balancing hands-on problem-solving with strategic leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ERP experience in SyteLine.
  • MS or MBA in Operations, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in electrical, power systems, or industrial equipment manufacturing.
