Job Description

The Director of Supply Chain Site Operations will lead and oversee strategic and operational management of supply chain functions across Beacon Health System facilities. This role ensures the efficient, cost-effective, and compliant management of supply chain processes, including inventory management, distribution, logistics, and continuous process improvement. The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership to develop and implement supply chain strategies that support the organization's mission and goals, ensuring the availability of necessary medical supplies and equipment to support patient care.

Strategic Leadership:

Operations Management:

  • Oversee the management of inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while minimizing waste and costs.
  • Ensure the efficient and reliable distribution of supplies across all health system facilities.
  • Implement and oversee inventory control procedures to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain operations.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Develop and maintain risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to standards and procedures.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to understand and meet their supply needs.
  • Communicate effectively with executive leadership, vendors, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Prepare and present reports on supply chain performance, metrics, and initiatives.

Technology & Innovation:

  • Leverage advanced supply chain management software and technologies to enhance operations.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to implement innovative solutions.

ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Associate complies with the following organizational requirements:

  • Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.
  • Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes.
  • Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.
  • Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.
  • Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department.
  • Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.
  • Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.
  • Complies with established organization and department policies.
  • Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the healthcare industry. Proven experience in strategic planning and execution. Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or equivalent certification is a plus.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Demonstrates the managerial and administrative ability necessary to direct, coordinate, and enhance the System's supply chain reward functions.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Working Conditions

  • Works in a healthcare environment.
  • Required to travel to multiple sites.

Physical Demands

  • Requires the physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move supplies and equipment as needed.
