Key Responsibilities
Precision Healthcare Specialists is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Front Desk Associate to support our PET Imaging department. This role blends traditional front desk responsibilities with prior authorization coordination to ensure patients receive timely, accurate care while maintaining an efficient workflow. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, experience with insurance verification, and familiarity with imaging or radiology processes.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk Duties:
- Greet and check in/out patients in a professional and compassionate manner
- Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and referrals
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
- Answer and direct incoming calls, addressing patient inquiries
- Schedule and confirm appointments for PET imaging services
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front office environment
Prior Authorization & Administrative Duties:
- Obtain and manage prior authorizations for PET imaging procedures
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage requirements
- Coordinate with providers, insurance companies, and imaging staff to ensure approvals are secured prior to services
- Track authorization status and follow up on pending requests
- Accurately document all patient and insurance interactions in the EMR system
- Assist with referrals, medical records requests, and order verification
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 1–2 years of front desk, medical office, or radiology experience preferred
- Experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations required
- Familiarity with imaging services (PET, CT, MRI) strongly preferred
- Knowledge of EMR systems (eClinicalWorks, Athena, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in radiology or imaging centers
- Understanding of medical terminology and insurance guidelines
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods
- Frequent use of computers, phones, and office equipment
- Occasional lifting of up to 15–20 lbs
