About This Position

Description:

The Content Coordinator at NCCER works closely with cross-functional teams of technical writers, editors, illustrators, layout specialists, permissions specialists, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to supporting the development, revision, and delivery of our training materials. This role supports the successful creation, revision, and development of craft-specific content. Specifically, it involves organizing manuscripts and visual assets while providing administrative support to ensure all aspects of the content development projects are delivered on time, accurately, and in accordance with our established processes.

NCCER is searching for a detail-oriented, organized, enthusiastic candidate who has great communication skills and is a learns quickly. As the NCCER Content Coordinator, your work supports the development of materials used around the world to train construction craft professionals at high schools, vocational schools, colleges, and construction training centers.

Key Responsibilities

  1. With direction and support, coordinate the flow of content across the writing, art/illustration, editing, and permissions teams for all curriculum revisions.
  2. Facilitate team meetings by taking notes, following up with team members on action items, and notifying the team of upcoming deadlines.
  3. Assist the writing team with organizing content, building art logs, and compiling feedback from subject matter experts (SMEs).
  4. Schedule and coordinate meetings with key project stakeholders.
  5. Occasionally create and/or review basic instructor resources materials used with the curriculum.
  6. Collaborate with the art and permissions teams to help organize and/or review images, permission forms, and other art-related documents.
  7. Perform quality checks and/or light editorial reviews on draft documents for consistency, formatting, and accuracy.
  8. Maintain organized Confluence pages, digital asset folders, shared drives, and content repositories.
  9. Support the creation, organization, and maintenance of the curriculum templates, style guides, and processes.
  10. Provide administrative support to Content Development leadership.
  11. Assist editors with correction log entries, updates, and notifications.
Requirements:
  • Excellent written communication and editing skills
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating educational or training content, preferably for construction, skilled trades, or workforce development
  • Basic understanding of construction concepts and terminology, or the ability to learn them quickly
  • Proven ability to organize material for multiple projects simultaneously, including tracking schedules, reviews, revisions, and approvals
  • Experience working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) such as instructors, construction professionals, or other experts in a particular trade
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when reviewing technical accuracy, safety requirements, and compliance-related content
  • Familiarity with document management platforms such as SharePoint
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 applications, SmartSheet, and Confluence
  • Ability to follow content standards, style guides, and version control processes
  • Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively across the writing, art, and editing teams
  • Self-directed and adaptable, able to prioritize work and adjust to changing project needs in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of construction safety regulations and industry standards
  • Knowledge of the construction industry, career technical education (CTE), and/or vocational training
  • Familiarity with instructional design principles and/or adult learning concepts, especially for hands-on or skills-based training
  • Experience with a Learning Management System (LMS), content management systems (CMS), or Adobe Creative Cloud tools
  • Understanding of copyright, permissions, and asset licensing processes
