About the Role
Archer Academy of Accelerated Learning is seeking motivated and collaborative professionals who are excited to be part of an innovative learning community designed to help students accelerate through high school while receiving the support they need to succeed. Staff at Archer Academy work as a team to create a positive, responsive, and student-centered environment where new ideas are welcomed, and continuous improvement is part of the culture.

Individuals in this role join a small, mission-driven team that values collaboration, creativity, and strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Staff work closely with school leadership and peers to support daily school operations, contribute to a welcoming school climate, and help implement programs that advance student success.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide specialized instruction and academic support to students with disabilities in both self-contained and inclusion classroom settings.
  • Design and deliver lessons aligned with Archer Academy’s learning acceleration model, adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Implement accommodations, modifications, and evidence-based strategies that support student access to the general education curriculum.
  • Develop, prepare, and participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, collaborating with families, teachers, and service providers.
  • Monitor and report student progress toward IEP goals regularly, maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers to support inclusive practices and coordinated student support.
  • Maintain organized systems for case management, progress monitoring, and communication with families and staff.
  • Engage with students and families in a professional and welcoming manner to strengthen school–community partnerships.
  • Participate in team meetings, problem-solving efforts, and school initiatives that support student success.
  • Contribute to a collaborative school culture that values innovation, teamwork, and shared responsibility for student outcomes.
  • Support school events, family engagement activities, and other initiatives that strengthen the school community.

Qualifications

  • Current New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) Level II or III Special Education teaching license.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students with disabilities in self-contained and/or inclusion settings.
  • Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, compliance, and progress monitoring.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining student documentation and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when working with students, families, staff, and community partners.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to adapt and take initiative in a dynamic school environment.
  • Commitment to supporting students with diverse academic, social, and behavioral needs.
  • Experience with Nurtured Heart Approach is preferred.
