About This Position
Elmet Technologies is a leading producer of the high-performance metals including tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum and niobium.
We are currently sourcing candidates for a Process Engineer at our Euclid, OH facility. This person will be responsible for the development, oversight and improvement of all manufacturing processes within the respective product line. Ensures that all processes accurately reflect the production practices, costing is adequate, and quality requirements meets or exceeds customer specifications.
What You’ll Do
- Develop, document, and oversee manufacturing processes for Molybdenum, Tungsten, and Toll processing products in collaboration with Operations and Quality teams
- Create and maintain OPCs, BOMs, routing structures, and detailed manufacturing instructions
- Ensure processes accurately reflect production practices, cost structures, and quality requirements
- Evaluate and implement new processes, manufacturing methods, equipment, and tooling to improve capabilities, yields, and product development
- Provide technical support to customers to define product/process requirements and troubleshoot existing materials or applications
- Work closely with shop floor employees to troubleshoot and resolve production issues
- Partner with Quality Control and Quality Assurance to resolve nonconforming material issues and customer complaints
- Lead and support corrective and preventative action initiatives, including FMEA and other quality analyses
- Support vendor interactions, including equipment evaluation and development, with occasional travel as needed
What You’ll Bring
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, IT, or related Engineering Technology
- 3–5 years of experience in a similar or related metals or powder metals manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP experience a plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with CAD (SolidWorks) and CNC programming (MasterCam/SolidCam) for multi-axis milling and turning applications
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hands-on manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Manufacturing experience
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification
- Experience with SPC and global shop environments
- Experience in hot working of metal products
