Pay: Range starts at $20/hour (pay is calculated based on years of related experience)

Schedule: Mon-Fri | 8am-5pm

Job Summary & Deliverables

The Autism Specialist provides developmental and educational services to children and adolescents with autism in a clinical setting or the home environment.

Essential Functions

  • Designs individualized programs for children and adolescents with autism to increase and develop social, communication, and behavioral skills
  • Provides services within the assigned treatment setting - clinical setting or the client’s home. Homebased treatment assignments require access to reliable transportation.
  • Designs specialized programs and teaching procedures for individual or small groups of clients to develop academic knowledge and ability through the application of behavioral techniques and procedures
  • Charts the progress of assigned clients through weekly progress notes to ensure the ongoing evaluation of each client's strengths and opportunities
  • Monitors progress notes and related data to ensure the proper implementation of individualized behavior change programs
  • Reviews current research on autism, understands behavioral modification theories and applies appropriate techniques
  • Completes various administrative tasks and meets deadlines for submission to ensure timely and accurate data collection for electronic health record systems
Requirements:

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Experience

  • Three months of experience as an Autism Assistant or six months of direct client care experience

Licenses/Certifications

  • CPR certification Valley de-escalation certification
  • Driving positions require a minimum age of 21 and a current driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of experience working with individuals with autism
