SAFETY COORDINATOR
Job Summary:
The Safety Coordinator supports Dugan Production Corp.’s commitment to safe and responsible operations by administering safety programs, maintaining regulatory compliance documentation, coordinating training and reporting requirements, and supporting field operations. This role ensures OSHA, NIOSH, DOT/FMCSA, BLM, and other applicable safety requirements are properly documented, tracked, and implemented. The Safety Coordinator serves as a liaison between operations, leadership, and regulatory standards to promote accountability, regulatory compliance, and a strong safety culture across the organization.
Essential Duties:
- Provide support in the implementation and maintenance of company safety programs to help ensure compliance with OSHA standards, NIOSH guidance, DOT/FMCSA regulations, BLM requirements, and internal company policies.
- Coordinate quarterly safety meetings and maintain complete, accurate attendance and documentation records.
- Maintain organized safety files, regulatory documentation, and corrective action tracking to ensure timely resolution and audit readiness.
- Manage OSHA injury and illness recordkeeping, incident reporting, Workers’ Compensation documentation, corrective action follow-up, and safety training records in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Maintain and monitor Driver Qualification (DQ) files and support DOT drug and alcohol testing program compliance.
- Oversee the safety training matrix, ensuring required training, certifications, and CDL documentation are current and compliant.
- Track and manage personal protective equipment (PPE), FR clothing vouchers, safety boot reimbursements, and related documentation.
- Maintain inspection logs and compliance documentation for fire extinguishers, AEDs, first aid kits, electrical safety, gas monitors, and related safety equipment.
- Support spill response documentation, environmental compliance reporting, and implementation of exposure control practices aligned with NIOSH guidance.
- Conduct and support internal audits, field inspections, and regulatory reviews to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Monitor regulatory updates and provide recommendations to leadership and field personnel to strengthen safety practices and compliance.
- This position is expected to maintain strict confidentiality of company information, employee records, and any sensitive data encountered in the course of work.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA (29 CFR 1910 & 1926), DOT/FMCSA (49 CFR Parts 382 & 391), and related safety regulations.
- Familiarity with NIOSH guidance and occupational exposure best practices.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to coordinate audits, inspections, and corrective actions in a structured and timely manner.
- Proficiency with digital reporting systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with field personnel, leadership, and regulatory agencies.
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
- Five (5) or more years of safety experience in oil and gas or similar industrial environment preferred.
- Experience supporting OSHA and DOT/FMCSA compliance programs strongly preferred.
- Must meet Driver Acceptability Profile requirements (driving position).
- An equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable.
Working Conditions:
- Work will be a combination of the office and field environment.
- Exposure to varying outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dust, and noise.
- PPE required in field settings.
- Occasional extended hours may be required based on operational needs.
- Physical activity including standing, squatting/kneeling, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting (constant up to 30 pounds, occasional of 31-100 pounds) may be required.
