Position Overview
We are seeking a driven, trainable, and self-starting Mechanical Technician to join our team. This position falls under the General Laborer category for an SCA contract. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing critical mechanical maintenance on a variety of systems while maintaining a very strong and strict adherence to safety protocols and technical instructions. You will play a vital role in ensuring operational readiness and equipment reliability in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $17.85 - $24.15. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform corrective and preventative mechanical maintenance on equipment, ensuring strict adherence to all standards and procedural compliance.
- Apply a basic understanding of mechanical theory, operations, and performance to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical systems.
- Operate and maintain various mechanical systems, demonstrating a solid understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, general diesel engine theory, pumps, and valves.
- Accurately follow complex instructions and technical procedures.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to guide maintenance and repair tasks.
- Utilize precision instruments effectively, including torque wrenches, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges, to ensure equipment meets exact specifications.
- Maintain a very strong and strict adherence to all workplace safety guidelines, hazard controls, and operational instructions.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Secret security clearance required (or ability to obtain)
- High School diploma or equivalent; trade school or technical training in mechanical systems is a plus.
- Proven ability to work as a self-starter with a strong drive to learn and be trained on new systems.
- Basic understanding of mechanical theory, hydraulics, pneumatics, and diesel engines.
- Demonstrated ability to read schematics and follow strict technical procedures.
- Experience using precision measurement tools.
- Strong team-oriented mindset with excellent attention to detail.
