At our company, we believe that our people are our greatest asset. As IT Technical Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the support team and related technical projects. This includes identifying opportunities to improve systems, products, and services, evaluating the initial project proposal, planning, budgeting, and scheduling the project, and managing the implementation. Their responsibilities managing and leading the support team include hiring, training, managing, and conducting performance reviews. Other tasks of the technical manager are maintaining and monitoring existing computer systems, ensuring a high level of performance and security, establishing vendor relationships, contract negotiations, creating user documentation, maintaining existing documentation, and creating standard IT procedures.
Location: Open to remote locations
Work Schedule: Schedule fluctuates based on workloads during weekdays with afterhours / weekend work as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitors computer software and hardware operating status; ensure that computers, printers, and other peripherals are in operating order.
- Performs hardware and software maintenance when necessary.
- Reports equipment problems or failures and provides the necessary documentation.
- Purchases needed hardware and software to enable day-to-day operations and meet project requirements.
- Creates and maintains Microsoft Entra and Exchange accounts.
- Manage the IT support team and prioritize issues as needed.
- Serve as a senior technical resource person for new procedures and support helpdesk knowledge transfer.
- Establish monitoring tools and quickly communicate all issues to facilitate proper evaluation, communication, and resolution.
- Maintains a positive, proactive attitude committed to continuous improvement of company culture and productivity.
- Work closely with the Cyber Security Team to maintain and improve IT system security.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Ability to perform functions of the job with minimal direction.
- Travel as needed, including some international travel.
Qualifications:
- Experience managing an IT support team with multiple skill levels
- Experience implementing and using an IT ticketing system
- Experience tracking and reporting on metrics and KPIs from ticketing systems Experience with end user computers and printers/copiers
- Experience with contract and vendor negotiations
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Entra (Azure Active Directory)
- Highly motivated, positive, responsible, organized, quick learner and a team player
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with procurement and asset management
Education/Experience:
- The position requires an AA/AS or BA/BS degree in a computer-related field plus 4 years of experience managing IT for a global company; or the combination of education and experience that enables the performance of all aspects of the position.
